Joan Marie Feichter, age 88, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, died peacefully on May 11, 2023. She was born on October 19, 1934, in Elkhart County, Indiana, the daughter of Bernard and Dorothy (Stove) Gausepohl. She was a homemaker and member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Ft. Wayne. Joan also lived for periods of her adult life in Rockford, Ohio and Chino, California with her children. Joan was a volunteer with the Girl Scouts of Limberlost Council in Ft. Wayne for over 25 years, serving as cookie chairman for 6 years and as an assistant leader. She was also a den mother with the Boy Scouts of America in Ft. Wayne. She was a member of the Bishop Dwenger High School music parents and volunteer at St. Jude Catholic School when her children were in attendance. Joan loved to sew, knit, and, most of all, read. Joan is survived by one son and four daughters: Tony (Sandy) Feichter, Albion, Indiana; Lynn (dec. Steve) Braden, Lake Havasu, Arizona; Margie (dec. Pat) Brunner, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Kathy (Dennis) Helmke, Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and Jan (Rod) Heiser, Naples, Florida. Sixteen grandchildren also survive: Jarod (Stephanie) and Jonathan (Amber) Feichter; Jordan (Michael) Estep; Angel, Drew and Allie Braden; Michelle (Robert) Wojcicki; Phillip and Michael Brunner; Lacey Stancavage; Dustin (Ashley) and Jeremy Heiser; Joanie Christlieb; and Josh, Kate and Zoe Feichter. Also surviving are twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Proceeding Joan in death are her parents; son Greg Feichter; twin sister Jean Thompson; grandchildren, Jacob Feichter and Nicole Gall; and great-grandchild, Thalia Christlieb. Mass of Christian Burial 1:00pm Saturday, June 24, 2023, at St Anne Retirement Home 1900 Randallia Drive Fort Wayne, IN. Burial will follow at The Catholic Cemetery, 3500 Lake Avenue, Ft.
