Jody Schowe

Mary Josephine “Jody” Schowe, 102, of Fort Wayne, died Sunday May 14, 2023 at the Towne House Retirement Center. Jody was born in Fort Wayne on September 23, 1920, the daughter of (the late) Harry and Elizabeth (Nassenstein) Weigand. Her first husband, Bernard Kelker, preceded her in death in 1975; she married Robert Schowe in 2001 and he survives. Jody was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church for many years and currently of St. Vincent DePaul Parish. She formerly worked as a hair stylist and then with Cottage Flowers. Jody was a joyful soul who enjoyed classical music, opera and travel. In addition to her husband Bob, Jody is also survived by a son, Bernard J. (Jenny) Kelker in Iowa; step-son, R. Thomas (Anne) Schowe of Santa Barbara CA; granddaughter Christina Schowe of Santa Barbara CA and several close nieces & nephews. Funeral service 11:00am Thursday May 18, 2023 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. Visitation 10-11am Thursday at the funeral home. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
