John D. Reid

John D. Reid, 87, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.  Born on September 15, 1935, he was the son of the late Arthur and Edna (Guiff) Reid.  John served honorably in both the U. S. Navy and the U.S. Army.  He worked as a claim’s investigator for State Auto and also worked in marketing for 1469 Autobody until his retirement.  John will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.  Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Janet Reid; sons, John A. (Julie) and Daniel K. (Susan) Reid; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  John was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Patricia Blomberg.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 11, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2213 Brooklyn Ave. (Fort Wayne 46802) with visitation one hour prior.  Visitation will also be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. (Fort Wayne 46805).  Memorials can be written to St. Joseph Catholic Church in John’s name.
