Joseph C Colvin

Joseph C. Colvin, 88, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on September 11, 2022. He was born April 7, 1934 in Fort Wayne, IN, a son of the late Thomas Colvin and Emily Colvin-Rollins.

Joe spent his career as a foreman with Worthman Homes and in retirement worked for Belmont Beverage Stores and was dedicated to service work for local Catholic churches. Joe married his high school sweetheart, Betty Westerhausen, and enjoyed 56 wonderful years together before her passing.  Together they raised 6 children and proudly welcomed 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren into the world. He loved spending time with his family, was an active member of the Southwest Conservation Club, a lifelong bass fisherman, an avid euchre player, and was a season ticket holder of the Fort Wayne Komets for over 30 years.

Joe is survived by children, Neal (Joni) Colvin, Lisa (Dr. Steven) Carr, Linn (Byron) Braun, Amy (Steve) Watters, Brenda (Warren) Brugh, Anne (Frank) Catapano.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Colvin, and siblings, Thomas, Lorna, Mary Alice, and Marcella.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 15, 2022, at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4500 Fairfield Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46807, with calling at the church one hour prior to the Mass. Immediately following the Mass, the burial will be in The Catholic Cemetery Fort Wayne, IN.
