Margo Suzette Bortner, 76, of Fort Wayne died Tuesday, May 10, 2022. Born July 20, 1945, in Kendallville she was a daughter of the late Norman and Velma Bortner. She was a devout Catholic and attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. In 1963 she graduated from Wawaka High School. In 2007 she retired from the Fort Wayne State Developmental Center. Margo lived for her family, especially her children and grandchildren, was a proud Navy mom, and Notre Dame Football Fan. She delighted in making jewelry and collecting opals. She also had a love of coffee ice cream and Pepsi. Margo is survived by her children, James N. (Cindy) Wolf of Panama City, FL, and Geraldyne "Jerri" L. (Glen) Witchey of Fort Wayne; beloved grandchildren, Sarah, Shawn, Erin, and Holly Witchey; brother, Stephen Bortner of Kendallville; sister, Charmaine “Charms” (Kirby) Mynhier of Union, KY; and cousin, Priscilla Beaumont. Margo was also preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Sisson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, May 12, 2022, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Rd. with calling one hour prior. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association or St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
