Marilyn J. Drummer, 83, of Fort Wayne died peacefully at home on October 29, 2021. Marilyn was born to the late Clarence and Ruth Hanefeld, of New Haven, Indiana on October 28, 1938. In her school age years, she played basketball and softball and was a graduate of New Haven High School in 1957. Marilyn retired from East Allen County Schools where she was a Secretary for 18 years. She was a member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church for over 40 years, volunteering through numerous parish activities such as St. Vincent de Paul Society, RCIA leadership, assisting with weekly offering tabulation and participation in various bible study groups. She was also an avid ND football and IU basketball fan.
Marilyn is survived by two daughters, Kelly (Richard) Graham of Rancho Cucamonga, CA and Kimberly (Michael) Nielsen of Fort Wayne; brother, Larry Hanefeld of Urbana, Ohio; 4 grandchildren Sarah and Sean Graham, Rachael and Ryan Nielsen and a dear friend, Gervaise Bastian. Marilyn was preceded in death by 3 children: Michael, Jeffery and an unnamed infant male.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2021, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2130 Pemberton Dr. with calling one hour prior. Interment will follow the Mass at the Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church or St. Vincent de Paul Society via St. Jude Catholic Church.
