Marion Stone Obituary

Marion K Stone, 100, of Fort Wayne died December 27, 2020 at Saint Anne Home, Fort Wayne, IN. Marion was born December 14, 1920 in Urbank. MN and was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Reger) Koep. Her early life consisted of working on the family farm in rural Minnesota during the depression. After leaving home, she worked for the USO in Port Clinton, Ohio during WW II where she met Sgt Robert Stone. They were married on 12/28/1944 and eventually moved to Fort Wayne, IN. While Marion was primarily a homemaker, she worked at the Indiana Hotel in the 60's and worked in the cafeteria at North Side High School from 1965-1970. She went on to work at the American Red Cross, first as an employee, and then volunteered until her 80's. Marion was a devote catholic, assisting the elderly at home and provided rides to church on Sundays. Her devotion to faith and family was an example for us all. She was a member of the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.  Marion is survived by her sons, Jeffrey (Sue) Stone and Jonathon (Karen) Stone;  grandchildren, Duane (Kim) Waterman, Brian (Cindy) Waterman, Jason Stone, Angela (Justin) Johnson, Amanda Stone, Drew Stone and Nicole Stone; 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren and all her relatives in Minnesota Ohio and California. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E Stone, daughter, Donna M Waterman, and 8 siblings. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, 112 South Clinton Street with calling one hour prior. facial covering is required.  Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery,  Fort Wayne.
