Mary Delsina (Bissonnette) Gillig, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, April 9 at her home.  Mary was the daughter of the late Armond and Ella (Strebig) Bissonnette and is survived by the best person she ever knew, her beloved husband of 63 ½ years, David Gillig.  Mary was born in Philadelphia, PA, raised in Chicago, IL and moved to Fort Wayne at the age of 21.  She graduated from Loretta Academy in Chicago and worked at the General Electric Company for five years.  She is survived by her seven children and their spouses; Diana (Tim) Martin of Indianapolis, IN, Christopher (Pam) Gillig of Alpharetta, GA, Edward (Cathy) Gillig of Fort Wayne, IN, Gregory (Tammy) Gillig of Fort Wayne, IN, Stephen (Kathy) Gillig of Fishers, IN, Philip (Sheila) Gillig of Fishers, IN and Suzanne (Dan) Foley of Steamboat Springs, CO.  She also leaves behind 14 Grandchildren, one great Grandchild and a sister, Barbara (Bissonnette) Toohig of McLean, VA. Mary was a faithful member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church since 1958.  She loved to play bridge and dominos, bowl, collect antiques, read books, travel and have family gatherings.  She was a giver of nicknames, lover of sweets and provider of laughs.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Friday, April 16, 2021 at Saint Jude Catholic Church, 2130 Pemberton Dr, with calling one hour prior. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 15, 2021, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne with the Rosary recited at 3:45 pm.  Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery,  Fort Wayne. Memorial Contributions may be made to The Bishop Dwenger High School Gillig Family Scholarship Program, St. Jude’s Roman Catholic Church or St. Jude’s School Assistance Fund.
