Mary Ann Muia

Mary Ann Muia, age 48, residing in Fort Wayne, IN passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 26th, 2022.  Mary Ann was born in Thika, Kenya. She moved across the globe to Fort Wayne, where she dedicated herself to her children, her work as a nurse, and was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She attended Brown Mackie College in Fort Wayne, IN where she earned her degree in Nursing. As a nurse, she served the Fort Wayne area with professional and compassionate care for over 20 years. Mary Ann received the Quest for Excellence Award in Nursing. Mary Ann met the love of her life, Jeremy Egri in 2017.   She was happiest when gardening, cooking, dancing and spending time with her beloved children and grandchildren. Mary Ann was selfless and went out of her way to assist others with their needs. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her parents Paul and Sera Muia, fiancé Jeremy Egri, children; Jason (Tristen) Mwangi, and Melissa Mwangi (whom is expecting a son) , grandsons; Jason Jr and Alaric Mwangi, and a grandson due to arrive in November, grandfather Bernard Kisingu, siblings; Florence Muia (John Musili), John (Christine) Muia, Moses (Noemi) Muia, and Jackline Muia (Rogelio Carmona), nieces and nephews; Jayden and Nathan Musili, Adrian, Arianna and Aubriella Muia. Preceding Mary Ann in death are her grandparents; Peter and Maria Ndunda, Susan Nthuka Kisingu, and niece Maria Nduku Muia. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 pm at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, 1102 S. Clinton St., Fort Wayne, IN 46802 with visitation one hour prior.  Arrangements by Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46805.  Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery.
