Mary Helen Donovan Obituary

Mary Helen Donovan, 90, passed away Friday, May 20, 2022, at home surrounded by family.  Born in Sandyville, WV she attended Ripley High School and Mountain State Business College.  Mary Helen was proud to be a part of the family business as a bookkeeper for Donovan Engineering for over 30 years.  

She was a longtime volunteer and member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.  Mary Helen enjoyed tennis, golf and bridge, island hopping with friends, wintering with Jack in southwest Florida, family reunions, cheering for the Saints, Bulldogs and Boilermakers, tailgating with family and friends at Purdue football games, and spending time with her grandchildren anytime, anywhere. 

Mary Helen is survived by her children, Mike Donovan, Mary Kay Donovan, Rick (Sabrina) Donovan; grandchildren, Alixandria (Steven) Pelych, Madelyn (fiance, Brady O'Cull) Donovan, Campbell Donovan; great grandchildren, Gracelyn and Griffin Pelych; and many nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John R. "Jack" Donovan; daughters, Margaret Donovan and Jeanette Donovan; parents, John and Lula Jean Campbell; and brothers, John, Jim, Joe, Jule, and Jack Campbell. 
 
Visitation will be 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm Friday, May 27, 2022, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. with a private funeral service immediately following.  Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery.  

It was Mary Helen’s preference in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to St. Charles Borromeo School Tuition Assistance, 4910 Trier Rd. Fort Wayne, IN 46815, or Catholic Community Foundation of NE Indiana, to benefit the Jeanette Donovan Education Scholarship, 9025 Coldwater Road Ste. 200, Fort Wayne, IN 46825.
