Maureen E. Galligan

Maureen E. Galligan, 59, of Fort Wayne passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021, from complications of her diabetes.  Born July 6, 1962, in Chicago, IL, she was a daughter of the late Tom and Kitty Galligan.  She graduated from Snider High School and St. Mary's College.  Maureen worked in the banking industry for most of her professional career. She was involved with Big Brother Big Sister for many years and loved being a Big Sister.  Maureen loved her kitties, McDuffy and Kevin especially during these past few months when she spent much time at home due to her health issues.   Her family and close friends meant the world to her.  She was the life of every gathering - a rolling party cart.  She did not meet anyone who walked away a stranger, in fact they walked away feeling cared for, listened to and a friend.  Maureen is survived by sisters, Teresa G. (Tim) Kershisnik of Littleton, CO, Kathleen M. Galligan of Cincinnati, OH; nephews, Thomas and Kevin Kershisnik and Patrick Galligan; niece, Kathleen Kershisnik Sieg and cousins from the Kleiderer, Lannan and Garrels families. In honor of Maureen’s colorful personality, we request when attending either the Visitation or Funeral to please wear her favorite colors pink and or green.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Monday, December 6, 2021, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Road with calling one hour prior. Visitation also Sunday, December 5, 2021, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave.  Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Big Brother Big Sister of NE Indiana, 1005 W Rudisill Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN 46807 or Humane Fort Wayne, 4914 Hanna St, Fort Wayne, IN 46806.
