Maximilian Cambre Obituary

 

Maximilian A. Cambre, 91, of Fort Wayne passed away Friday, June 3, 2022.  Born August 26, 1930, in Reserve, LA, he was the son of the late Maximilian and Carrie Mae Cambre, also of Louisiana. Max was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.  He also served in the U.S. Army during the mid-1950s, stationed in West Germany.  He obtained both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in electrical engine from Louisiana State University and Purdue University, respectively. He worked in transformer engineering at General Electric for over 40 years and was a member of IEEE. Interested in community involvement and mentoring, he was active in Scouting for many years, loved gardening and many other outdoor activities.  Max is survived by daughter, Cecile Cambre; sons, Louis Cambre, and John (Karen) Cambre.  He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Ann Cambre.   Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church,  with calling one hour prior. Visitation also Tuesday, June 14, 2022, 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave with Rosary at 3:30 pm.  Burial will be in St Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Woman's Care Center or Knights of Columbus.
