Patricia M. Witte, 99, of Fort Wayne died Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at St. Anne Community Randallia. Born Patty Muldoon on Saint Patrick's Day March 17, 1923, in Hessen Cassel, Ind. she was the youngest daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy (nee Fox) Muldoon. She graduated from South Side High School, received her LPN from Ivy Tech and worked at St Joseph Hospital. Patty was a longtime member and Eucharistic minister at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. She loved time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patty liked to garden and travel, especially visiting her daughter and son-in-law in Arizona.
Patty is survived by her children, Tom (Mary) Witte of New Lenox, IL, Mary (Mike) Veth of Tucson, AZ, Jerry (Judy) Witte of Fort Wayne, Anne (Jerry) Niezer of Fort Wayne, Denise (Kent, deceased) Roudebush of Roanoke, Tim (Lois) Witte of Winona Lake, Ind., David (Eileen) Witte Keaveney of Durham, NC, Joellen (Mike) Ionni of Cleveland, OH, Mark (Kris) Witte of Fort Wayne; 25 grandchildren; and 37 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Paul F. Witte (2012); brother, Delbert Muldoon, sisters, Buelah Muldoon and Dwayne Sorg; brothers-in-law Msgr. John Witte and Norbert Witte, and son-in-law, Kent Roudebush. As the last surviving member of her club of ladies affectionately known as “The Naughty Nine,” she was preceded in death by her fellow matriarchs Helen Berghoff, Joanne Berghoff, Irene Freistroffer, Joanne Jehl, Peggy Koester, Alma Lassen, Maxine Poinsatte, and Millie Verstynen.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Anne Community Randallia for the loving care provided to our mother for the last 12 years. Above all, the family gives thanks to God for a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Friday, January 27, 2023, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2130 Pemberton Dr., with calling one hour prior. Visitation also Thursday, January 26, 2023, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery.
