Patricia "Pat" Woehnker

Patricia J. (Sherman) Woehnker, 96, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024.  Pat was born on February 4, 1928 in Fort Wayne.  She was the daughter of the late Hubert C. and Dona M. (Martin) Sherman. She attended St. Andrew’s Catholic School and Central Catholic High School and graduated in 1946.  She attended Mount Mary University in Milwaukee for a year.  She married her high school sweetheart Edward “Butch” Woehnker on January 22, 1949.  They celebrated 72 years of marriage in 2021.

Pat will be remembered for her sense of humor.  She and Butch enjoyed sunsets and daily happy hours with either Manhattans or Gin and Tonics!

Surviving family include her children, Mike, Mark (Patti) of Colts Neck, NJ, Nick (Carol), Lori Witte, and Greg (Wendy); grandchildren, Matthew (Jackie) of Shrewsbury, NJ, Craig (Katie) of Shrewsbury, NJ, Brittany (Dan) De Wyse, Kelsey (JT) Walsh of Shrewsbury NJ, Courtney Witte, Erik, Johnny (Leah); and great grandchildren, Hayden Grace Emrick, Brett Woehnker, Jake Woehnker, Abigail Patricia Woehnker, Tommy and Ryan Walsh all of Shrewsbury NJ;  brother, Dennis (Sharon) Sherman of North Palm Beach, FL; and brother-in-law Steve Steckbeck. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward in 2021; and sister, Marilyn Sherman Steckbeck in 2016.

Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Rd., Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior.  Visitation also from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, with a Rosary Service at 1:45 p.m.
