Paulette Wilson, 74, went home to the Lord on Tuesday April 27, 2021. Paulette received nursing training from Rochester General Hospital School of Nursing and Penn State. She was the number 13 alto vocalist in the state of Pennsylvania singing competitions and was a competitive dance skater. Paulette was like a gourmet cook. In 1970 Paulette came from the Pittsburgh area to Fort Wayne to attend Fort Wayne Bible College to pursue a degree in missions. As a surgical nurse, she was placed on the first Heart Transplant Team for two years at Lutheran Hospital then designed and created the OR Technician course at Lutheran Hospital and was able to get the accreditation from the American Medical Association. She was the primary instructor for the OR technician courses then returned to nursing after two years as the market need for ORT’s was met. Paulette then was part of the RN staffing registry for specific nursing needs until 2010 when she suffered a medical event. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Mike Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home 3500 Lake Ave. with visitation two hours prior. Face mask/covering required.
