Phyllis Jean Rush, 92, of New Haven, passed away Friday, June 18, 2021. Born April 10, 1929, in Huntington, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Etta Arnold. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven, where she was involved with the Rosary Sodality, parish representative for CYO, and coached girls' sports. Phyllis worked at Hutners for over 10 years. She loved to play euchre. Christmas was her favorite time of year. Phyllis is survived by children, Nancy (Patrick) Maher, Rita (Steven) Schenkel, Barbara Gladieux, and Paul (Lucy) Rush; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. Phyllis was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Rush; son-in-law, Larry Gladieux; siblings, Robert, Paul, Charles, and John Arnold, Coletta Delaney, and Joan Klotz. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven, 943 Powers St., with calling one hour prior. Visitation also from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., with Rosary at 5 p.m. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery, New Haven. Memorial contributions may be made to St John Catholic Church, New Haven or Heartland Hospice.
