Raymond “Dan” Schuckel, 81 of New Haven, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024.
He was born in Fort Wayne on January 2, 1943 to the late Raymond B. and Edna (Dean) Schuckel.
Mr. Schuckel answered his country’s call and honorably served in the United States Navy.
On February 5, 1966 he married the love of his life, Denise Scharffbillig at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Dan retired from Benteler as a Tool Maker.
Dan was a lifetime member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Haven. He was also a member of the American Legion and a Charter Member of the Canal Cruzers Car Club. Dan will always be remembered as an avid outdoors and sportsman. He will always be known for his kindness and generosity.
He is survived by his children, Diane (Steven) Rorick and David Schuckel; grandchildren, Jennifer (Chad) Zurbrugg, Joseph Rorick, Anthony Schuckel, Adam Schuckel, Carmen Schuckel, and Luke Schuckel; and four great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were his wife, Denise; and siblings, Barb Harper, Marilyn Pemberton, and Jane Schuckel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church 943 Powers Street, New Haven with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be Friday, March 15, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne.
Memorials may be directed to the Michael J. Fox Foundation or masses in remembrance of Raymond.
