Raymond "Ray" Shank Obituary

Raymond  "Ray" L.  Shank, 84, of Fort Wayne lost his battle with cancer on October 1, 2021 with his family by his side. Ray was born in Fort Wayne and was one of seven children. He was a veteran serving in the US Navy.  He enjoyed wood working and WW 2 history. Everyone was family to him and he treated them as such.  He was always available to help anyone and will be sadly missed. He was a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Ray is survived by his wife of 57 years Mary Jane; children, Julie (Jeff Degitz) Malnor, Steve (Shelly) Shank, Lauri Shank, Cindy Shank; 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 5 siblings. 

Ray was preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Meyers and daughter in-law Robin Schuster. 

Funeral Services will be 3pm Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave with calling one hour prior. Visitation will also be held 2-4 and 6-8 Friday Oct. 8, 2021 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Catholic Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Services of NE Indiana.
