Richard Phillip “Dick” Noll, 82, passed away on March 5, 2021. Dick was born September 30, 1938 and was the second of twelve children born to the late Walter Phillip and Virgilia (Getty) Noll. He was a 1956 graduate of Central Catholic High School and a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church. Dick served in the U.S. Navy from January 1956 to June 1962 serving 16 months aboard the Guided Missile Cruiser, the USS Topeka CLG-8 as a radioman and cryptographer. He later retired from International Harvester/ Navistar. Dick treasured his family and loved being with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed playing poker with his friends at the Eagles where he was known as “Dicky”. He also loved playing, talking, and reading about sports. Through the years he was on bowling leagues, IHC and senior softball teams, he coached his kids’ softball teams, played tennis with his brothers and was involved in many games of basketball on his backyard court.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Valerie (Mayers); children, Richard M. Noll (Elaine Qi), Susan (Matthew) Guck, Andrew (Tara) Noll, and Patrick (Leia) Noll; treasured grandchildren, Tom, Tristan, Casey, Jacob, Kaitlyn, Ella, Olivia and honorary grandson, Leon. Other survivors include siblings; Carolyn Gerics, Ronald (JoAnn) Noll, Walt (Kay) Noll, Sylvia Noll, Priscilla Noll, Juliann Henn (Dave Rodocker), Gary Noll, Susan Noll (Keary Land) and Angela (Randy) Elliott.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, brother John and his wife Debbie Noll, infant brother Larry and brother in-law Louis Gerics.
Visitation from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with a Rosary service at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue. Face mask / coverings are required. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Friday, March 12, 2021 at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 St. Joe Road with visitation one hour prior. Entombment at Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society or the Rescue Mission.
