Robert R. Brown

Robert R. Brown, 89, of Fort Wayne passed away Monday, May 17, 2021 at home surrounded by family. Bob was born July 28, 1931 in Winslow, IN.  He was a longtime active member and volunteer at St. Jude Catholic Church.  Bob was a dedicated volunteer and leader with the Prison Ministry in Allen County.   He founded the Gideon’s Christian Warriors and was a lifetime student of Og Mandino.   Bob graduated from Oakland City College.  He was a teacher and coach at St. Joseph High School alongside his lifelong friend Father Daniel Leeuw.  He proudly served in the United States Air Force and was a participant of the 2016 Honor Flight of NE Indiana.  Bob was highly accomplished in insurance sales.  Bob is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Loraine; children, Veronica (Michael) Carroll; Michael (Eugenia), Timothy (Toni), Eric, Daniel (Nancy), Keith, and Jeffrey (JoAnn); 20 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and sister, Faye Meyer.  Bob was preceded in death by his son, Steven; and mother, Louise Pirkle.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Friday, May 21, 2021 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2130 Pemberton Dr with calling one hour prior. Visitation also Thursday, May 20, 2021, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., with rosary at 4:00 pm. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church.  Face coverings required.
