Robert A. Janiszewski

Robert A. Janiszewski, 85, of Fort Wayne passed away peacefully on, Saturday, March 26, 2022, surrounded by his family. Robert was born January 13, 1937, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, the son of the late, John and Mary (Hodun) Janiszewski. He married Marcia Delagrange, on February 13, 1960, in Fort Wayne, IN. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope and American Legion Post # 47. He was an avid Komets Hockey Fan, having season tickets for over 40 years. Robert retired from the US Air Force in 1974, as a meteorologist, having served both in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was very proud to have been on Honor Flight #29, on September 19, 2018. After his retirement from the US Air Force, Robert worked for the US Postal Service for 23 years. Robert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marcia Janiszewski; children, Laura Smith, Karen (Dan) Brehm; Robert (Dawn) Janiszewski, Jr, Steve (Cindy) Janiszewski, John (Tina) Janiszewski; siblings Mary Ann (Richard) Stencik, Michael Janiszewski; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Son-in-law, Randy Smith; siblings John, Anthony, Edward, Tom, Joan Petroski and Joseph.  Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00am Friday, April 1, 2022, at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 St Joe Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46835, with calling one hour prior. Visitation also, Thursday March 31, 2022, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, with US Air Force Military Honors.
