Obituary

Thelma E. Williams, 91, of Fort Wayne, IN died June 15, 2020. She was born August 25, 1928 in Fort Wayne and was the daughter of the late Paul and Lucy Chambers. Growing up, Thelma enjoyed babysitting, reading, and going fishing. On Jan 26, 1957, she married Jesse Williams, Jr. They had four children and also raised four of their grandchildren. Thelma was a member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and retired from North American Van Lines. She loved people and learning about other cultures, cooking, sewing, music and painting. Her special passion was for children and animals. 
Thelma is survived by her children, Tracy (Rowena) Williams of Indianapolis, IN, Shawnee (Richard) Bates of Zionsville, IN and Scott (Brianna) Williams of Fort Wayne, IN; sister, Lois McKinney of Fort Wayne, IN; the grandchildren she raised, Nina (Chris) Anderson of Virginia Beach, VA, Shawnee Thomas of Fort Wayne, IN, Bree Jackson of Fort Wayne, IN, and Sterling (Christina) Gilliard, of Hinesville, GA; and a host of other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, family and friends. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Williams, Jr., son, Marshall Chambers Williams and brother, Paul Chambers II. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am, Monday, June 22, 2020 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 1122 S Clinton St with calling one hour prior. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Allen County SPCA at www.allencountyspca.org <http://www.allencountyspca.org>
