All Saints columbarium

As cremation columbaria have become more widely accepted, so has their variety in design and visual appeal. But few columbaria are as unique and awe inspiring as the All Saints Columbarium at the Fort Wayne Catholic Cemetery. The first of its kind in northeast Indiana, this beautiful two-level, all brick columbarium will serve as the final resting place for more than 2,000 souls.

Constructed in 1938 to serve as the Catholic Cemetery's original main office building, the structure features eight well-appointed windows which will be converted into stained-glass depicting the images of revered Catholic Saints.

The upper level of the columbarium can receive up to 864 glass-front niches that allow the contents to be viewed. In addition to the cremation urn, families can display photos, crosses, rosaries, floral tributes, and words of endearment as a tribute to their loved ones.

The "Catacomb" level, which can accommodate 1072 souls, is identical to the Catacomb located directly under Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome. Each soul placed in a Catacomb niche space will be memorialized in bronze located near the upper level. Visitation and praying for those inurned in the Catacomb level will take place in the upper level.
