Ray Meinerding 84, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully in the arms of Jesus on November 10th, at Ashton Creek Nursing Home. He was born on March 12, 1939, in Grabill, Indiana, to the late Ray and Mary (Smead) Meinerding. He retired from International Harvester after 30 years and was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church. His devotion to his children was evident through many camping trips and his attendance at their various sporting events. He was known for his countless hours of volunteer work both in the church and community. His twinkling blue eyes while telling a good joke, playing euchre, or having a good time with his grandchildren was just a few things he enjoyed. He is survived by his devoted wife Marjorie (Krouse) of 62 years and children: Julie (Shannon) Summers, Matt (Leigh) Meinerding, and Carol (Tim) Malcolm. He had six grandchildren ; Cassandra (David) Green, Kraig Malcolm, Alicia (Joe) Neukom, David Malcolm, Kayla (Lucas) Demel, and Kyle Meinerding. He also had three great-grandchildren : Ivy, Lily, and Ava. He was preceded in death by his sisters: Phyllis (Eli) Myers and Jean (Joe) Lengacher. Surviving siblings : Gary (Nancy) Meinerding and Bonnie ( Wayne ) Johnson. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 Saint Joe Rd., Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne.
