I'm sorry to hear of Dick\'s passing. He was the first engineer I worked for at IDOT. I learned a lot in the three seasons I worked for him. Years later the quality of his highway sections was evident; he demanded quality and built things to last.

Sad to see this news today. Dick was probably my best mentor as a young engineering tech while working for IDOT. Hard-nosed but fair, serious about precision and the highway construction business and doing things right. I worked several seasons under his tutelage and I'm grateful to have had that privilege.
